As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
We believe far more can be done to help prevent breast cancer. That's why we think it's time to move beyond breast cancer awareness to preventative action. Breast cancer rates are rising rapidly. Today, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with the disease at some point in their lives. In England, incidence rates have increased amongst women by 90% and amongst men by as much as 60% in just one generation. We want all of the root causes of breast cancer to be tackled so that these rates reduce.

Such a sad loss to family and friends. A lovely, kind and thoughtful lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. RIP
Ms Elizabeth Happer
Joy and Andrew will greatly miss Carol's uplifting attitude and encouragement, the warmth and depth of her personality, Carol's knowledge on so many things - especially in the garden. It was a pleasure knowing Carol over the last 20 years.
Mr Andrew Waters
Our thoughts are with you all. Carol was such a lovelly lady who was so very kind, considerate with a cheeky dry wit. Carol will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
