Dearest Barry you are missed so much by all of us at St Mary's.

Mrs Elizabeth Barker

Remembering Barry with love and much laughter throughout our National Youth Music Theatre days together. xx

Mrs Anne-Marie Horton

We first met Barry, along with Jackie, at the Cock Inn quizzes where the pair called themselves the Elsenham Elves. They made a formidable team and we thought them to be very scary! However, we came to realise that this scariness was just their quizzing fervour, and from there we started to talk. Over a short time, we all became good friends and formed a more or less permanent team for village quizzes. When Jackie sadly passed away, Barry continued as the central cog of our team. Quiz nights won't be the same without him. It isn't just Barry's intellect and ability to recall obscure facts for quizzes that we will miss. It will be his sense of humour and his ability to find a funny side to most situations. And even if you didn't actually witness the event that had happened, the way he would recount the story would have you in fits of laughter and make you feel like you had been there all along. Barry was an absolute gentleman and a joy to know, and we loved his company. Our lives were enriched by knowing him and we will miss him tremendously. Helen and Jill xx

Ruth and family, what a lovely man your dad/grandad was. He so kindly gave up his time to help our football girls by giving lifts, setting up and packing away, reffing or running the line. He always had a huge smile for everyone and was a special part of our football family. He will be sorely missed. Love from Ultan, Lindy, Megs & Tess xx
