Parkinson's UK (Parkinson's Disease Society Of The United Kingdom)

Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.

The number of people diagnosed with Parkinson's in the UK is about 145,000. That's around 1 adult in every 350.

People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine because some of the nerve cells that make it have died.

There are lots of different treatments, therapies and support available to help manage the condition.

Our researchers are working hard to develop new and better treatments - and one day a cure.

Messages of condolence

Many miles walked together, many laughs and many pints whilst we recovered, you were such a good friend over so many years. Rest in Peace dear Eddie, so pleased we were able to have that last chat (and moan) together recently. You will be missed so much.

Family Ivor and Jacqui Thurgood

So many miles walked together, So many cracking birds spotted together, Perhaps not enough fish caught together, Never too many beers drunk together, But definitely time well spent together - and fond memories of a dear friend treasured, forever. Get me a Theakston’s in Ed - we can have a sit and a laugh together again one day I hope. Farewell my friend

Mr & Mrs Andy Gibson

Will be greatly missed

In fond memory of our friend Eddie. RIP. Lyn & Robin Winterford
