Bowel Cancer Uk

We are the UK's leading bowel cancer research charity. We are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life for all those affected by bowel cancer.

We support and enable research

In 2015 we announced our ambitious move into research. The major advances in saving lives from bowel cancer in the past 20 years have all come through research. Through strategic investment in targeted research, we will deliver improvements in bowel cancer survival in our lifetime.

We aim to increase the number of people surviving bowel cancer within five years of diagnosis from 50% to 75% by 2025.

One of the first major projects we are working on is bringing together the leading bowel cancer scientists and clinicians to identify gaps in current research, which if addressed, could save thousands of lives.

We campaign

Working in partnership with people affected by bowel cancer and the clinical and research community, we campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care across the UK. You can make a difference by joining our campaign supporters network.

We provide expert information and education

We educate patients, the public and professionals about bowel cancer by providing expert information and training. We do this through our website, a range of publications free to order and download and awareness talks in the community. We also run training for healthcare professionals to ensure they have the latest information regarding signs and symptoms, risk factors and the screening programme.

We fundraise to save lives

We are determined to save lives from bowel cancer but we can’t do this without you. There are lots of ways you can support us and help fund vital research to stop bowel cancer.

Battersea Dogs' And Cats' Home

From the moment we welcomed our first stray dog in 1860 we have been placing our animals at the centre of everything we do. More than three million animals later, we're still working hard to achieve our vision that every dog and cat should live in a home where they are treated with love, care and respect.

Battersea aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.

Messages of condolence

From the Friendship Group and Cruisers in memory of Barbara.

The Friendship Group and Cruisers

Barbara was such a lovely kind lady, I have many good happy memories of her at the livery yard we shared. Our horses were good friends to, Lizzy Donal and mine Ringo - sleep well Barbara Xx

Mrs Michele Martin

Barbara was a wonderful lady who shall be sadly missed. She always had a twinkle in her eye and we shall miss our chats over coffee and a slice of cake. Passing by in the car providing the “royal” wave on her way out for lunch always made us smile. Love to Zoe from Iain, Darren and Doris xx

Mr Darren Aston

Barbara was a lovely person and good friend. We will miss her.

Mr & Mrs Bill and Kathy Morris

Dear Zoe. Auntie Barbara will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Talented in so many ways, from arts and crafts to cookery and gardening, it was always a delight to witness and enjoy the fruits of her labours. We will also remember her cheerful and positive approach to everything she did and the fun times we shared with her . May you look back on your precious memories and find peace. Nothing we can say will take away the pain you’re experiencing, we just want you to know that we care and share in your sadness. When we lose someone close to us, like a mother, they continue to live on through us and give us strength. There is no one in this world like your Mum. She was a special person, and she will always be with you.

Mrs Sue Lloyd

With deepest sympathy, Mihaela
