St Helena Hospice Limited

Helping local people face incurable illness and bereavement, supporting them and their families, friends and carers.

We also support children and adults who are facing bereavement.

We reach out to members of our community, helping them make their own choices and live with dignity. By focusing on their physical, emotional and spiritual needs, we aim to bring comfort and relief to all those who need it, offering the people of North Essex individual care and total support, regardless of their diagnosis or personal circumstances.

We rely heavily on the help and generosity of our fundraisers, donors and volunteers. Without them we wouldn’t be here.

We all share a common goal: to be here every step of the way for everyone who needs us, helping life to go on in the face of dying, death and bereavement.

By visiting them in their homes, over the phone with our 24/7 advice line, through our day therapies, and at The Hospice, through all the smiles and all the tears we guide those who need us, because we believe in making every memory matter.

Our ambition: We want more people to have dignity and choice at end of life.

Our priorities:

Reaching out based on need regardless of diagnosis or circumstances
Empowering people to plan ahead, share their choices and achieve their wishes
Providing excellent personalised care to more people in hospice beds and in the home
Helping life go on in the face of dying, death and bereavement

Mrs Donna Whiting

I was so sorry to hear of Kate's sad passing - all far too soon. Although having lost touch over the years, being part of the Dickson family who lived nest door through most of our childhood, the wonderful memories of the strong friendship we all had are still very fresh in my memory. Lots of fun was had by all over these years! Condolences to her family.

Mrs Deborah Doorish

Dear Simon and Jonathan. So sad to hear your sad news. We had many great times together and I shall never forget our friendship, though we drifted apart in latter years, I am so pleased Kate was in my life and she really was a brilliant friend. They say those who shine brightly often go too soon. Kate definitely did shine bright and brilliantly too. Sending much love xx

Mrs Sara Napoletani

Kate, to all of our many memories of childhood, local characters and family when we sat by the fire. To all of your animals that you loved, friends and family. To your family they all meant everything to you and the enormous pleasure that you had watching the videos of your grandchildren. Rest in peace until we are all together again

Kate was such a lovely lady, down to earth & a good listener. She adored all of her animals & this was our connection her beautiful dog Scout. Seeing Kate several times a week and having a chit chat brightened my mornings, she was always so positive. Kate was taken far too soon, my thoughts and condolences to all of her family. Xxx

in memory of Kate and sending condolences to her family, I remember Kate through the many childhood years living next door and through the close relationship our families had. Our paths many times and I last saw Kate at a Suffolk Punch show at Marks Hall. Karen met Kate{ and of course Little Horse} through the riding stables at Twinstead and knew her for many years.
