Messages of condolence

Dear Julie and Melanie, Thank you for arranging such a lovely celebration of your mother's life on Monday. It was interesting to hear her life story as well as her acts of kindness and generosity towards her family and friends and particularly her grandchildren. Her devotion to the arts through her painting, poetry, dolls houses and more, came through strongly in the eulogies we heard. Stella was a supportive and loyal aunt. Ever since my stay with her and you all in Adderbury over Christmas 1964 (I think), where she proudly exhibited her Beatles stockings, we both kept up sending Christmas cards. She will be sorely missed. I hope the next few weeks and months go okay. It is always a difficult time. But I look forward to keeping in touch and maybe we can meet-up on the River Thames sometime. With much love Philip

Dear Julie and Melanie, I was deeply saddened to hear about Stella’s passing. Losing a parent is such significant moment and I can imagine how you deeply you must be grieving the loss of your mum, who I think you were both very close to. Although I hadn't seen Stella for a long time, I have fond memories of staying with you all when I was eight or nine. I remember being impressed by the dollhouses and artwork she created. She, like me, went to art school so was a kindred spirit. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. With heartfelt condolences, Simon
