The League Of Friends Of St Andrew's Church Halstead
The Friends of St Andrew's Church, Halstead was formed in May 1993 and is an independent registered charity (number 1019270) whose sole objective is to raise money for the upkeep of our historic parish church.
Essex Blind Charity has been caring for blind and visually impaired people since 1920. Times may have changed, but our aim remains to deliver a range of excellent support services to improve the lives of visually impaired people in Essex. The charity is managed by a Board of Directors, some of whom are visually impaired, who meet monthly to provide strategic direction and ensure the charity meets its objectives.
Essex Sight is the name of our community service and operates from the borders with Suffolk in the north to the M25 in the south and out to the coast. We are based in Colchester and operate 8 pop up sight centres in towns throughout the county. Opening times vary from weekly to monthly depending upon demand, see our list of sight centres for individual opening times.
Each centre has a range of information and knowledgeable staff to help with everyday living. We can also provide confidential help, reading documents and filling out forms.
In addition, we can offer home visits for those who struggle with mobility, finding practical solutions for people to help them to continue to live independent lives.
Our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer works within eye departments and low vision clinics in North Essex hospitals providing support to patients and their families.
