Chris Green
Emeritus Professor Christopher Green OBE
3 November 1942 – 17 January 2025
Chris will be sadly missed by all his family, friends and the many people whose lives he enriched through music, the arts, education and journalism.
Rest in peace.
St. Peter’s Parish Church, Bocking
St. Peter’s Bocking, also known as St. Peter’s in the fields, is the Anglican parish church for some 12,000 people in Braintree and Bocking. The church is located near to the town’s Public Gardens and was the venue for a concert given in November 2024 by Anglia Singers; the group which Chris founded in 1992 at Anglia Ruskin University. Sadly, Chris was unable to conduct that concert, but our family was involved with Sylvia joining the choir.
Chris’ family is grateful for so many people who have supported Chris and us in the past few years. One of those is Father Richard Chand, Priest in Charge at St. Peter’s, who visited Chris at home to give Holy Communion and has provided support since.
Donations made to the church will be used to maintain the church fabric. **(PLEASE SELECT THE TAB FOR DANIEL ROBINSON & SONS BELOW) **

Music in Our Bones
Registered Charity No.: 1166578
Music In Our Bones has created eight lively communities across Suffolk where those attending receive a warm welcome. Groups run in the larger towns and online, for those unable to attend in-person. Led by experienced Singing Leaders, the groups show that singing together really can lift spirits and help to manage the many challenges of life.
Ipswich Musical Memories would be the recipient group of your donations in memory of Chris. The group offers such a joy-filled lifeline to those living with dementia (and just as importantly to those family members carrying the tough burden of caring for them). Often it is only in singing and getting involved in the music making in whatever way is still possible, that people living with dementia become themselves again.
Trianon Music Group has partnered with Music in Our Bones in the past, and Chris shared their belief in the importance of music and its benefits to our wellbeing.
