Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.

The number of people diagnosed with Parkinson's in the UK is about 145,000. That's around 1 adult in every 350.

People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine because some of the nerve cells that make it have died.

There are lots of different treatments, therapies and support available to help manage the condition.

Our researchers are working hard to develop new and better treatments - and one day a cure.

Messages of condolence

To Jenny and family, I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to Graham's funeral, but I have heard that it was a lovely service from a friend who did attend. Graham and I went back a long way to the my early days at Price Bailey, where I soon became Graham's secretary. I have very fond memories of that time, and especially Graham, and I'm pleased that we managed to keep up contact over the years, albeit only by birthday and Christmas cards and our annual "round robin" letters. Please do continue to keep in touch. May Graham rest in peace and may you and the family derive comfort by knowing that he was well loved and respected by all of us who were privileged to have known him. With warmest regards. Wendy

I have known Graham for 40 years, firstly as the father of a good friend at school and for the last 17 years as a fellow Rotarian. He has been a constant throughout that time as our club secretary and has guided us through much change particularly over the last few years. He knowledge, experience and good humour has been constant. His sudden loss will be keenly felt by our club and I send my condolences to Jenny and the family. Rest in peace Graham.

Lovely memories over many years but particularly as our accompanist when Peter and I were entertaining small groups throughout the local community. We had such fun and laughter which the audience enjoyed so much. We miss you too in many aspects at St Michael’s Church. RIP
