Charity details

Parkinson's UK (Parkinson's Disease Society Of The United Kingdom)

Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.

The number of people diagnosed with Parkinson's in the UK is about 145,000. That's around 1 adult in every 350.

People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine because some of the nerve cells that make it have died.

There are lots of different treatments, therapies and support available to help manage the condition.

Our researchers are working hard to develop new and better treatments - and one day a cure.

For family and friends: It’s never easy saying goodbye to someone loved so dear Someone who gave a life of love Someone who helped those near It’s never easy moving on without sadness in your heart Just remember happy times, being together, not apart Thanks for the Burns suppers, John, where we all had a chance to sing a Burns song or recite a poem. I loved that. b.s.farley
