British Eye Research Foundation

Fight for Sight is a dynamic charity with a bold vision and a long history.

Forged by the union of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation, we pride ourselves on the impact we make on people who are blind or vision impaired, the vision loss sector, and society.

We have consistently worked with passion and purpose to deliver a vision to ‘Save Sight. Change lives.’

Our capacity building funding is designed to support the creation of a sight loss sector that is coherent, sustainable, and resilient to the rising demand for equal service provision across the UK.

The new charity is the UK’s only significant independent charitable funder of both scientific research and social change to achieve fairer outcomes for blind and vision impaired people.

We have the bold ambition of changing the world for blind and vision impaired people. Our vision is to Save Sight. Change Lives.

Messages of condolence

I first met Richard in the mid 80’s when I joined Potter Street football club, he was instrumental in getting the Pavilion and moving the Cricket & Football clubs to Church Langley playing fields. He was a good friend and fellow trustee and will be greatly missed by us all at SEHSYA. George Thorp

What a fabulous dad you have been, I have a ton of fun memories, my girls have been so lucky to have such a lovely grandad and Andy to have a great mother in law. We will all strive to live our lives to the full just like you have. We will love you forever.

In loving memory of Richard Parish a very special friend to The Whitby Family for over 80 years. Your decency, calm, constant support and friendship spanned 4 generations of our family from Nana & Da in 1940 and then on into Fred and Lew's lives and families. Always such a special part of our family and memories. Penny, David & Michael Whitby and families.
