The Bishop's Stortford Food Bank helps vulnerable people in our community during a crisis. They do this by providing short-term, emergency food parcels, non-food items and fuel support for those on prepayment meters.
Why we are needed...
Up to 14.5 million people in the UK live in poverty, which includes 4.3 million children. Family breakdown, illness, unemployment or disability could happen to any of us. That's why we are here - to support residents of Bishop's Stortford and the surrounding villages in times of great need.
How we donate food...
We work with frontline professionals - such as social workers, health visitors, advice charities, housing associations and mental health teams - who identify people in crisis and issue them with a Food Bank voucher. In exchange for the voucher, they will receive up to five days of food and non-food items from our centre.
I have many happy memories of you, Pat, after my parents took over at The Yew Tree in the '90s and becoming friends - sharing many laughs and good times back then. Rest in peace. Katie, Sam, Jacqui and Pete x
