Mr Christopher Davies

Chris lived life to the fullest every single day.

Even when we were told he had cancer he never once complained or uttered the words “why me” He continued to live life and made every day count, mainly making jokes about it! Chris never wanted to be made a fuss off he just wanted to be treated the same.

I cannot express enough how immensely proud as a family we were of Chris, whilst we were falling apart at times Chris remained composed and upbeat, telling us off and telling us to get on with it and stop crying.

As a family we are overwhelmed by the support and help people have given since Chris has passed. It has been deeply touching to see how many lives Chris made an imprint on and we will be forever grateful.

Chris was a man who didn’t like to see money wasted so his wish was that money wasn’t wasted on flowers Chris’s wish was for donations instead, made to a charity close to his heart also a place where we met and our story began. We kindly ask that donations be given to St Helena’s Hospice.

Chris was fortunate to see the amazing work they provide and to help them raise vital funds towards helping others at end of life care.

He’s not gone he’s just not here x

Love

Carrie, Alex and Sam xx

St Helena Hospice Limited

Helping local people face incurable illness and bereavement, supporting them and their families, friends and carers.

We also support children and adults who are facing bereavement.

We reach out to members of our community, helping them make their own choices and live with dignity. By focusing on their physical, emotional and spiritual needs, we aim to bring comfort and relief to all those who need it, offering the people of North Essex individual care and total support, regardless of their diagnosis or personal circumstances.

We rely heavily on the help and generosity of our fundraisers, donors and volunteers. Without them we wouldn’t be here.

We all share a common goal: to be here every step of the way for everyone who needs us, helping life to go on in the face of dying, death and bereavement.

By visiting them in their homes, over the phone with our 24/7 advice line, through our day therapies, and at The Hospice, through all the smiles and all the tears we guide those who need us, because we believe in making every memory matter.

Our ambition: We want more people to have dignity and choice at end of life.

Our priorities:

Reaching out based on need regardless of diagnosis or circumstances
Empowering people to plan ahead, share their choices and achieve their wishes
Providing excellent personalised care to more people in hospice beds and in the home
Helping life go on in the face of dying, death and bereavement

Mr Steven Davies

Chris was a colleague and a friend, always up for a moan, a gossip and a laugh. Our managers meetings aren’t the same without you, I have no one to roll my eyes at now! Rest in peace Chris, you are so missed x
