Charity details

Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity Limited

Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting people whose lives are touched by cancer. Our support centres in Essex, London and Hertfordshire are vital in helping people living with cancer. The centres offer a range of complementary therapies to patients in an environment of peace and tranquility, including counselling, reflexology, aromatherapy, manual lymphatic drainage and support groups. The centres are for patients with all types of cancer at all stages, whether newly diagnosed or longer term, throughout and after completion of treatment.Founded in 1999, the charity is the legacy of BBC broadcaster Helen Rollason, whose vision was:

“Good quality of life while coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive. It should be available to everyone.”

Providing support for cancer patients’ emotional well-being alongside their medical treatment continues to be at the core of the charity’s mission.

We also support research and clinical drugs trials relating to cancer with an annual grant made to Broomfield Hospital and The North Middlesex Hospital.

In fond and sincere loving remembrance of my darling baby sister. You were strong till the very end but now you should enjoy your rest, free from pain and worry. I'll always miss our daily phone calls, umpteen trips to the town and the library, but you will always be in heart, walking beside me. Rest in peace till we meet again, Your ever loving sister, Peggy.

From the first day I met the Cochrane family, you welcomed me with open arms. I have some of the best memories — evenings spent watching the soaps with you, Imaan trying to teach me lyrics while you just sat there, shaking your head with a smile. I’ll never forget being reminded to “be sensible” when we rolled in after a night out or returned from a Malibu Girl adventure (sometimes some very silly adventures), or the way you’d listen to our antics with patience. Even at 3 am, when we burnt the chips, you were there quietly turning off the oven. You were a supportive ear and a steady guide through our pre-university days and later student life. You inspired so many with your strength, your kindness, and your unwavering belief in standing up for what is right. You supported everyone lucky enough to step through your door, making them feel like family from the very first moment. Thank you for your kindness, your laughter, and the countless ways you touched my life and the lives of so many others xxx
