Mr Harry Whiting

Harry Richard Whiting 12th December 1933-22nd July 2026 He had been devoted to his late wife, Pat, and together they moved from London to Sawbridgeworth in 2007. 'Harry Boy' as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a much-loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a hard-working man, whose life was shaped by family, friendship and faith.  A committed Christian, he was a loved and respected member of SEC for many years where he made lasting friendships. He loved to sing, and would often burst into a song containing the name of someone he had just met. He enjoyed music from the 1930s and 1940s, and was a keen sports fan, especially of boxing, football and Arsenal. In his final 15 months, Harry lived at Falcon House, where he made new friends among residents and carers. He will be remembered with great love and gratitude by all who knew him.

Jews For Jesus

We help our people to explore Jewish life with faith in Jesus.

Being Jewish and believing in Jesus were meant to go together. But many have never heard the good news of our Messiah.

We want our people to have the chance to experience the spiritual richness we’ve found in knowing and following Jesus.

Christian Concern

We’re passionate about bringing the love, justice, truth, freedom and hope of Jesus Christ to the heart of society. And we’re building a movement of Christians who share that passion.

We believe that Jesus Christ is good news for society and as relevant today as he has ever been. We believe that a flourishing future is a future shaped around him.

But we also know that it’s becoming harder to be a Christian in the UK today.

So, we’re at work to make Jesus and his ways known, to protect the freedom to live and speak for him, and to empower Christians to be compassionate and courageous ambassadors.

We do that by speaking and influencing, by challenging and protecting, and by mobilising and equipping.

We engage on a wide range of issues. We also have three specialist ministries that complement our wider work: Christian Legal Centre, Wilberforce Collective and Wilberforce Publications.
