Mike was born in Yorkshire but spent his early years constantly moving from one
air base to another as his father was a missile engineer in the Air force. After attending fifteen different schools he returned to Yorkshire for nearly six years as a student at Leeds University Dental Hospital.
In 1969, after qualifying, he moved to Barrow where he joined Dorothy’s brother Jack as a GDP. He loved his work and was highly regarded by his patients. A keen member of Round Table and Rotary he helped raise thousands of pounds for charity. He also enjoyed the Lake District and spent a lot of time with the children in the fells and on the lakes. In 2002, having taken early retirement because of ill health, he moved to Braintree to be close to his children and grandchildren where he continued his charitable work with great enthusiasm and success.
Mikes Family have asked for donations to be set aside so Braintree and Bocking Rotary Club can organise a local charity in Mikes memory & to continue the excellent charity work he worked so hard to organise. Last year one of the things Mike organised was for some local families to enjoy a holiday, something that would never have been possible for them. With your donations we will be able to help other families and provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for them.
