Robert Gostling “Bob” was born in London on 16th May 1940. He married Anita in 1962 and they had their only son, Glenn in 1965. Bob was a printer and worked hard so he and Anita could buy a house in Sawbridgeworth. They moved to Sawbridgeworth in 1968.
Bob made many friends through life and was well known around Sawbridgeworth. Some knew of his love for Spurs Football Club, others knew he loved to have a little bet on the horses, but everyone who knew him, knew of his love for his family. Anita, Glenn and his grandchildren, Amy, James and Matt were his absolute world. He was diagnosed with cancer in December 1991 shortly after his first grandchild Amy was born and he fought it off three times because he was so determined to see his grandchildren grow up. He loved nothing more than seeing his family and was only too happy to be the designated family taxi service. He spent many summers taking his family to his favourite holiday resort in Menorca where he was his happiest with his family, always having a laugh and a joke with them all, he will be hugely missed.
You will be hugely missed Bob and I for one will know I will have to go along way to meet another loving ,caring ,family man as you were ,,, Our thoughts are with Anita , Glenn, Debbie , Amy , James & Matt 🙏
Lots of Love Lorraine & Paul xxx
