Forever in our Hearts

Charity details

The Gideons International has one simple and clearly defined aim: to win men, women and young people for the Lord Jesus Christ. It has three basic and clearly defined methods in pursuit of this objective:

The association of Christian business and professional men and their wives for service.
Personal testimony and personal work by all members.
Placing and presenting Bibles and Testaments - God's Holy Word - in the main streams of life.
The history of The Gideons goes back to the late 1800s.

They are aware that many people in Britain have never seen a Bible and may be uncertain what it is. Their aim is to give them the opportunity to read it for themselves, perhaps for the first time, and to discover God in a personal way.

The Gideons place Bibles or New Testaments in many areas including:

Student Accommodation
Care Homes
Medical Centres
Additionally we make personal presentations of God's Word.

Each year they present personal copies of the New Testament and Psalms to children in thousands of British secondary schools and to many university and college students.

They make personal presentations to medical personnel and uniformed services - Armed Forces, Police, Ambulance and Fire.

They place New Testaments at hospital bedsides.

Grandpa, can’t believe it’s time to say goodbye already. You were an incredible, kind and caring man devoted to your family and your faith. You are now at rest with the lord and at total peace. Forever in my heart, all my love, lillibet xxxx

Miss Elizabeth Setterfield

We had known Maurice for nearly 60 years & found in him a true friend & loving Christian brother & have many fond memories of time spent in his company. He lived out his faith & was a witness to many who, like us, benefitted from knowing him. Now safely in the presence of his Lord. Roger & Janet.

Mr & Mrs Roger & Janet Everard

In loving memory of a true gentleman may you now rest in peace

I had the privilege of knowing Maurice for 41 years, he was always faithful to his Lord. I always loved hearing him singing as he worked and also around the home. I had the joy of him being my father in law and then a precious Grandpa to my Tori and Zach. Will really miss knowing he isn’t around. Thank you Maurice for all you were and all you stood for. Love Sarah x
