Ken, husband, father, granddad and great-granddad and friend, sadly passed away at the age of 87 on 25/01/2021.
Although Ken eventually succumbed to heart failure, he had previously survived 2 heart attacks and was given a Quadruple Heart Bypass in the autumn of 2008.
Thanks to this amazing life-saving surgery, he was able to continue living an active life for another 12 years.
It is therefore fitting that we chose the British Heart Foundation for his friends and family to donate to in his memory.
If you are able to donate, please do select the Gift Aid option, this makes such a difference. Thank you.
A much loved friend, with a shared passion for walking in the hills with the BDOPC

Dearest Ken, My abiding memory of you shall always be meeting up with you at a random garden centre/coffee shop in Edale - the middle of the Peak District after I had completed my Silver DofE Expedition. I shall always remember walking up towards the coffee shop thinking..."Those two bikes appear awfully familiar" and as I walked closer the next thought was "As does that laugh..." turning the corner - their were you and Hilary sat at a table drinking coffee sharing a joke with another couple - big grin on your face - drawing on your pipe. A memory from 25 years ago - that seems like only yesterday. May you rest in peace amongst the Hills that you so dearly loved. Thoughts and Prayers with Hilary and all the family on this day Philip
Mr Philip Gray
