Animal Rescue

Providing a safe haven for neglected, unwanted and abandoned animals.

The animal rescue charity was founded in 1990 by mother and daughter Jan Rose and Fiona Piggott after taking in strays from the local police dog pound. News travelled fast and soon waifs and strays where being left on their doorstep. Desperate funding and a more suitable home for these animals initiated the creation of the Charity, now affectionately known as “the small charity with a big heart” . Their aims and objectives are as follows:

To provide a safe haven (sanctuary) for neglected, unwanted and abandoned animals and wherever possible to treat and re-habilitate all animals including wildlife; sanctuary as we see it being a place of protection; a refuge.

Dear David, Sorry you have left us. We, I in particular will miss you and all your help that you have given me in the past year, down at the Age Concern Hall in Ware, also the discussions about classic cars and coffee and your chocolate bourbons. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you. A pleasure to have known you. Harry and Val, Sarah and Peter, Dennis and Mark (Antiques) and many more.

Mr & Mrs Harry Evans

So sad to hear of the passing of such a good neighbour. We will miss our chats with you about Major and seeing you around the square. With kind thoughts.

Mr & Mrs Kay & Craig BACKHAM

Dear Dave. I was so shocked when I received the very sad news of your passing. I will greatly miss our long chats about cars and putting the world to rights, the coffees, donuts and biscuits and laughs we enjoyed when you came in to the office. I hope you know you were always welcome, and that I counted you as a good mate. Take care my friend.. God bless. Nick.
