The Mothers’ Union (MU) is a national Christian membership movement whose aim is to promote Christian family life and to provide support to families and communities in need in the UK and worldwide.

 

Founded in England in 1876 by Mary Sumner, the Mothers’ Union now has over 4 million members in over 80 countries around the world.  Membership is not limited to mothers; men and women, married or single, parents and non-parents are all welcome.  These members seek to serve people in their communities through outreach projects and various programmes.  Members work tirelessly, offering Christian care for families, regardless of faith or background.
